Head of SEO - Job Description

Location: Hybrid (Manly, Northern Beaches – Sydney)
Type: Full-Time
Salary: $95K – $143K + Super (commensurate with experience)

The Opportunity
We’re on the hunt for a strategic and hands-on Head of SEO to lead the SEO function across our client base. This role is critical in owning and executing SEO strategy, leading a team, and ensuring outstanding delivery and outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead SEO Strategy: Own and drive high-impact SEO strategies across a diverse portfolio of clients. 
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and grow a high-performing SEO team, supporting their development and ensuring top-tier execution. 
  • Technical Oversight: Oversee on-page, off-page and technical SEO across all accounts – from audits and site speed to content structure and link building. 
  • Performance & Reporting: Set and track KPIs, providing regular insights and clear, actionable reporting. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with account managers, developers and content specialists to deliver integrated digital campaigns. 
  • Stay Ahead of the Game: Keep up to date with the latest algorithm updates, tools and industry trends to continuously evolve our SEO offering. 
  • Support Business Growth: Contribute to new business efforts with SEO insights, audits and recommendations when needed. 

About You

  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in an agency setting 
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO (Core Web Vitals, indexing, site structure etc.) 
  • Comfortable using tools like GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog 
  • A natural leader with solid project management skills and a proactive mindset 
  • Confident communicator who can simplify SEO for clients and internal stakeholders 
  • Able to juggle multiple projects and keep quality high under pressure

Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented Front-End Developer with a keen eye for design to join our team. This role focuses on building visually appealing, user-friendly websites using WordPress, Elementor, and Shopify, with an emphasis on front-end development. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of PHP and experience with React to enhance the interactivity of our web projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain responsive WordPress websites using Elementor and Shopify, ensuring a seamless user experience across all devices.
  • Collaborate with designers and other developers to implement custom themes and templates that align with client requirements.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and Shopify’s Liquid templating language.
  • Integrate front-end components with back-end services and APIs.
  • Optimise websites for performance, scalability, and SEO best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues and bugs promptly.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in front-end development with a strong portfolio of WordPress and Shopify websites.
  • Expertise in using Elementor to design and build custom WordPress themes.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), PHP, and Shopify’s Liquid templating language.
  • Experience with React and integrating React components into WordPress and Shopify sites.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.

  • Reporting & Insights: Build clean, clear reports that connect performance metrics with business outcomes – and always have insights ready to share
  • Budget Control: Manage client budgets effectively, ensuring spend is optimised and aligned with campaign goals
  • Testing & Iteration: Develop A/B tests across creatives, audiences and bidding strategies to continuously refine results
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our Creative department, Account Managers and Clients to deliver cohesive, full-funnel digital strategies

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience managing paid media campaigns, ideally in an agency environment
  • Proven track record running Google Ads and Meta campaigns with strong performance results
  • Comfortable managing budgets ranging from $2.5K to $100K+ per month
  • Highly analytical – confident using data to make decisions and refine strategy
  • Familiar with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, and platform-specific dashboards
  • Strong communicator – able to explain strategy and performance in plain English
  • Organised, proactive, and cool under pressure – you don’t miss deadlines or lose track of the details
